In the latest issue of US Consumer Reports, an influential consumer magazine in North America, only eight European car models (those less than a year old) have been recognised as recommended buys’, and both the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 are among the very select eight.
Furthermore, the Saab 9-5 received praise for its quality and reliability by being awarded the title of Best Used Car Buy - the only European model to win this distinction alongside other, mainly Japanese, products. "It feels really good to once again find 9-5 in such a list, particularly as it is the only European car model included," says Lars Hellberg, head of Saab Automobile's Quality and Customer Satisfaction Department. "We have been carrying out some decisive quality improvement work and this result proves the value of what we are doing."
