ARE YOU A LIBERAL?
The European Liberal Democrats believe in a Europe based on the fundamental liberal principles of freedom, democracy, human rights, the rule of law, tolerance and solidarity. We want to harness the abilities of each and every person in our society, to enable them to fulfil their potential, free from poverty, ignorance and pressure to conform. To achieve these goals, we are striving to reform Europe's economy to make it more prosperous and competitive, with more and better jobs and stable prices for consumers. We are working to promote sustainable development and to protect our environment. We are campaigning for a safe, free and fair society, which plays its part in ensuring a more just, peaceful and stable world. As the most consistent and long-standing advocates of an early and wide enlargement of the European Union, we look forward to welcoming into our Union our friends from the applicant countries, so we can give the best possible opportunities to all the peoples of our continent. We will also continue to campaign for a more transparent, democratic and accountable Europe, taking decisions as close as possible to the citizen. I hope that the quotes about liberalism, freedom and democracy in this leaflet will inspire you to find out more about liberalism and about the ELDR, and if you share our values, I invite you to join us!

"The only part of the conduct of anyone for which he is amenable to society is that which concerns others. In the part which merely concerns himself, his independence is, of right, absolute. Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign."
John Stuart Mill

Hans-Dietrich Genscher
"I personally call the type of government which can be removed without violence 'democracy', and the other, 'tyranny'."

Voltaire
"Liberalism is trust of the people, tempered by prudence; conservatism, distrust of people, tempered by fear."

In fact, the true aim of government is liberty."
Baruch d'Espinoza
Jean Rey
"Of all the varieties of virtues, liberalism is the most beloved."

"A little rebellion now and then is a good thing."
Thomas Jefferson
EU-vaali on yksi mittari.
Kunnallisvaali syksyllä mittaa loput.
Viimeistään silloin KOKOOMUS kasvaa, koska jokainen nyky-keskustan demareita alistuvasti nuoleskelevaan, Matti Vanhasen politiikkaan kyllästynyt kansalainen hylkää keskustan...
...siin HYLKÄÄ KESKUSTAN.
Olenko keskustalainen ?
