MK1 Octavia vRS - lots of fun to drive, far better than the Golf on which it's based. Surprisingly thirsty about town but worth it on the B roads, and not visually shouty enough to attract the wrong sort of attention whilst still looking purposeful. Amazing amount of space for its size, quite well specced too with a very good climate control system. Stereo and CD autochanger typically shoddy though.
Unfortunately inherits lots of the boneheaded VW faults that seem to have no consistent solutions among dealers. Simple parts that suffer frequent failures cost a shocking amount for what they are. Expensive parts that should last the life of the car (eg. gearbox) fail with alarming regularity. Too much reliance on diagnostic codes by dealers leading to failed fixes and return trips, when the problems are often simple to trace if you apply traditional thinking and observation.

Skodaa tosiaan arvostellaan Britanniassa, ja kaikkialla, jossa sen huono laatu on tuottanut lukuisia pettymyksiä ja ongelmia. Moniongelmaiset itäkipot haittaavat monissa maissa, vuotavat ja räjähtävätkin

Tosin aloittajan viestissä oli kyse ykköskopan RS-mallista. Sitä on tehty vuosina 2001-2005.
Vettä vuotaa sisään ahtaaseen, kapeaan itäkajuuttaan - ja siitä ei brittikään tykkää yhtään sen enempää kuin ruotsalainenkaan. Ruotsia ja Brittejä voidaan pitää lähes skeidavapaana vyöhykkeenä, kun siellä myytävien skeidojen osuus on aivan marginaalinen.
Taas tuli valehtelua ihan koko kirjoituksen täydeltä. Kyllä kirjoittajalla on pokkaa, kun samaa schaissea jankkaa päivästä toisen, kuukaudesta toiseen. Ei oikein tiedä, pitäisikö itkeä vai nauraa.
Tuossa alkuperäisessä tekstissähän arvosteltiin paikallisen "diilerin" kykyä korjata ongelmia kerralla kuntoon.
Jullinjuntille ihan sama mikä maa tai kieli. Kaikki hajoo. Sen oma pää on antanut vakavan vaurion koodia syntymästä saakka.
