Miksei XP:ssäni ole boottivalikossa safe modea? Normaalisti painaessani f8-nappulaa näyttöön tulee vain valikko minkä laitteen haluan boottaavan ensimmäisenä, eikä olleskaan safe modea. Toiseen, rikkinäiseen XP:hen se kyllä ilmestyy, mutta kun se on rikki:) Löytyykö itse windowsista moista boottaustapaa? Äitilevy on merkkiä asus p4p800.

You can add Safeboot as an option to the normal XP boot screen
1. Open a command prompt
2. Copy the current c:\boot.ini to another name (just in case)
3. With your favorite text editor, edit c:\boot.ini
4. Copy then edit the current boot line to another line. For example:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
might copy and then change to:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional Safeboot" /fastdetect
5. Start MSCONFIG
6. Click on the BOOT.INI tab
7. Highlight the second line with the additional name of Safeboot
8. Check the /SAFEBOOT box with option you want
Minimal - Minimal set of drivers
Network - With Network Support
Dsrepair - Directory Services Repair
Minimal (Alternate Shell) - Standard Explorer Desktop
9. You will now have this option every time you start XP
Oletko kokeillut bootata painelemalla F5 nappulaa? Jos ei toimi vaan vie takaisin Boot Menuun paina uudestaan F5.
XP PRO boots normal but can't boot in safe mode
Click start
Click run
Type msconfig and hit enter
Click the radio button for Diagnostic Startup
Click apply and close
In the dialogue box that appears click restart
When windows restarts you will be in safe mode
Minimize the window and run your programs
When you are done, go back to normal startup.
If you don't have run on your start menu right click on start
Click on the start menu tab and click on customize
under the advanced tab in the start menu items list, click the check box for Run command and OK.

Eli f5->f8 toimi, en tiiä toimisko f8->f8 mut hyvä näin.
