kokeilin minäkin tuota ubuntua, ja hyvällehän tuo tuntui mutta tuo uusien ohjelmien asennus tuntuu todella monimutkaiselle, onko muissa jakeluissa sama ongelma?

Ihan ei yhdellä tai kahdella klikkauksella asennukset onnistu, mutta kolmella saattaa jo onnistua.
Se on tietysti hiukka monimutkaista, mutta sitkeällä opettelulla saattaa onnistua.
Olen tässä jo pari päivää vääntänyt Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy) että saisin multimedian edes jonkinlaiseen peruskäyttöön, tuo apt-get on vaan pahasti jäljessä nykyversion tarpeista.
Kaikki hoituu esim.Mandrivassa asennuksesta alkaen noin tunnissa täydelliseksi vakaaksi käyttikseksi, ehdottomasti toimivin ja helpoin asennus myös ensikertalaiselle Linux-asentajalle.(urpmin käyttöön kuitenkin kannattaa samalla tutustua).
no voi harmi! tuntuu oudolle kirjoitella jotain komentorivejä eikä sittenkään varmaa toimiiko. (oon nähtävästi laiskistunut winukan myötä) muuten tuo ubunta tuntui hyvin miellyttävältä - toivottavasti tähän saadaan parannus tulevaisuudessa.
onhan ubuntussa se graafinen pakettihallinta ...
rasti ruutuun ja apply niin ohjelmat asentuu :)

Tosin aikapaljon sisälsi rikkinäisiä paketteja, w32codec:it sai kuitenkin asennettua.
koska löysin kyseisen ohjeen vasta muutama päivä sitten... :)
heitä joku esimerkki mikä ei toiminut ?
Mplayer, realplayer, monet cdec:it/plugin:it jne. jne..Myös KDE-ohjelmiin ei löydy tarvittavia riippuvuus paketteja, kaffeine:a ei lainkaan.
Kovasti saa tuota paketinhallintaa vielä kehittää, jossain vanhemmassa Ubuntussa lähes kaikki asentui heittämällä.
