Kasipätkän mittarista on palanut polttimoita,ja
nyt kysynkin onko polttimoiden vaihto isokin
projekti?
Kuinka laajalti kojetaulua pitää aukoa?ja mistä?

Autosta täytyy irroittaa kojelaudan yläosa
kokonaan ja sen jälkeen mittaristo. Tee se itse-
mieheltä menee hommaan harkintoineen n. tunti ja
ammattimieheltä 10 minuuttia. Pari ruuvia on
piilossa ilmasuuttimien alla, ja ritilät lähtee
irti varovasti akselin kohdalta kampeamalla. - jj
Vaihto onnistuu myös alakautta kun ottaa sen
suojan pois missä on lämppärin kanavat. Ei käy
tosin isonyrkkiselle. - Make
Vaihdatin kaikki lamput huollon yhteydessä, taisi
maksaa parisensataa.
Instrument Cluster Removal Volvo 850
Tools required : 25 Torx screw driver or
something similar, I use a 25 torx bit in my 12V
drill, small flat tip screw driver for prying.
Light bulbs if replacing burned out ones. A
couple of rags to keep from scratching the
instrument cluster when removing it from the
dash. If you have had squeaks in the dash you
might want to have some felt tape handy to tape
up possible sources prior to reassembling.
To start, drop the steering wheel down and back
as far as it will go. Most of this can be done
from the drivers seat. Start with the left side
of the dash. Take off the small round plastic
cover that hides a 25 torx screw, and remove the
screw.
After removing the screw, gently pry out the
bottom while pulling down and back on the side
vent. Now take out the formally hidden 25 torx
screw shown below.
Now you need to remove three of the vents to gain
access to . You guessed it 25 torx screws. The
three top left vents have to come out, one to the
left of the instrument cluster two to the right.
By turning the vent down as far as it will go and
then forcing it a bit more you will notice it
comes unhooked slightly, and by moving it up/down
you will be able to free it from the dash. Note
the arrow shows the side coming out a bit.
There are 5 torx screws across the top of the
dash that will be remove. One each in the vents
and two on the top of the instrument cluster.
Now that the torx screws are out you are ready to
lift up the left side of the dash pad. Push up a
little and pull the dash pad towards you (just an
inch or so). Lift up on the left side slowly,
your speaker wire (the white connector) will keep
you from lifting up to high. (I unplug the
speaker so I don't stress the connection). While
lifting up gently bow it up and the left side can
be rested on the top of the dash.
In the above picture, the white connector on the
left is the speaker connector, the green
connectors must be disconnected, by pushing in
the little button in the middle and lifting up.
To the right and the left of the connectors in
the picture are clip fasteners, unclip the two
brass looking clips and the cluster is now free
to be removed.
The next photo shows the cluster almost out, with
rags wrapped around the frame so as to not
scratch the cluster when maneuvering it out. When
trying to work the cluster out a second person
pushing on the left and bowing up the dash pad
may help.
The 4 circled bulb holders twist out, the arrow
on the left is the SRL light, and the center
arrow is the clock, on some clusters there are
two bulbs one for the clock and one for the temp.
The small bulbs twist ¼ turn to come out.
Prior to pulling out the Instrument cluster on an
850 Turbo, the vacuum line needs to be
disconnected. If attempting to disconnect from
the back of the gauge there is a chance of
breaking the connector, resulting in replacement
of the gauge. On the drivers side remove the
three 25 torx screws that hold the kick panel up,
and remove the panel to the back seat. Get down
on the floor and locate the place where the black
rubber line connects to the hard plastic line. In
the picture it is white hard plastic but Ive
seen more black line than white so dont be
surprised if the hard plastic line is not white.
The line is hard to separate, pushing a small
bladed screw driver up to loosen it helps. You
can trace the line up to the gauge to be sure
its the correct line, as there are cruise
control lines in the area.
The part numbers for the light bulbs in the
instrument cluster are:
1. 977709 1.2w Bulb & socket $2.86
2. 942571 3w Bulb $2.86
3. 966326 1.2 W Bulb & socket (Trip
Computer) $2.97
Number 1 above is all the small ones across the
bottom of the cluster, number 2 is the 4 circled
bulb and sockets and number 3 is for the trip
computer and are about the same as number 1. The
picture of the back of the cluster is without the
trip computer, but until I get a picture you will
be able to figure it out.
