Ostin uuden koneen ja windows rupesi heti lataamaan päivityksiä. Nyt se pyytää asentamaan tätä: MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978) (1/1) päivitystä yhä uudestaan ja uudestaan. Miten tämän saa loppumaan?

Luulisin että loppuu, jos asennat jonkun kunnollisen käyttöjärjestelmän sen suxpeen tilalle.

2. When the File Download window appears, please click the Save button, and
follow the directions to save it to the Desktop.
3. After downloading this file, please double-click the "msxml.msi" file on
the Desktop. Then the installation will be performed automatically.
4. If you receive three options "Modify", "Repair", and "Remove", please
click "Remove" and follow the instructions to remove MSXML 4.0 Service Pack

5. After removing it, please double-click "msxml.msi" file again, click

-Valitse Remove (suomeksi poista asennus)

Jolla poistat asennuksen (remove) ja sitten asennat uudelleen (install)

Jonka vain asennat.
Aina uuden koneen tai uuden ohjelman mukana tulee kasoittain päivityksiä. Niitä ei pidä välttää koska ohjelmien asennuksesta, esim OEM koneeseen saattaa olla monta kuukautta sitten tosiaan, vaikka luulemme niiden olevan "uusia". Asennuksen jälkeen on jo tullut kasa päivityksiä jotka ohjelmat nyt etsivät kun liität koneesi verkkoon. Se on ihan paikallaan. Eteenkin AV ohjelmat ja palomuurit/seinät tarvitsevat noita päivityksiä.
