"This issue occurs due to incorrect date and time set on your system clock or some of the Temporary Internet files and cookies are causing this problem on your system.

Make sure that you are using the correct email address with which you are registered with McAfee and you have uninstalled the previous version before installing McAfee VirusScan latest version and no other AntiVirus is installed onto your system that might be conflicting with the McAfee VirusScan. .

Please double click on your System clock that is located at the bottom right corner of your Screen and check your System Date and make sure that it should be current.

Delete Cookies and Files, including the offline content. Open Internet Explorer, Go to Tools > Internet Options, Click on the Delete Cookies and Delete Files. Choose to Delete Offline content on the prompt.
Now Go to Start > Run > Type %temp% press enter. Empty the Temp folder by clicking on 'Edit' > select 'Select All' from menu on top and press Delete key from Keyboard. Say "Yes"/"Yes to all" to the prompts if any. If this folder contains some hidden file then please select the option to select "Show Hidden files & Folders".

If the issue still persists then please answer the following questions:

1) Using your mouse, right click on the Red "M" icon located on the bottom of the screen by the clock, and go up to "VirusScan". Then select 'about' from the menu that slides out. What build version is listed at the top next to the OK button? Also, what is the DAT version number and Scan engine?

2) Have you had previous versions of the McAfee VirusScan software installed on this machine or third party AntiVirus installed onto your System? If yes, Could you please tell me if you removed the previous version completely before trying to install the latest version on your system and how did you remove it?

3) Please let us know the email address with which you are registered with McAfee?

4) Which version of Internet Explorer you are currently using?

5) Visit the url: http://us.mcafee.com/root/mfs/default.asp?cid=9913 and scan the computer using the Free Scan program of McAfee. Please re-contact us with the result of the scanning."
