BERLIN, July 20 (Reuters) - Bayern Munich will be without injured top new foreign signings when they face Werder Bremen in Duesseldorf on Saturday in the opening match of the pre-season League Cup tournament.
Bayern, who made sweeping changes after finishing a disappointing fourth in the league last season, will be missing Italy's Luca Toni and France's Franck Ribery.
Werder beat Bayern 2-0 in last year's League Cup final, a low-key tournament that has struggled to establish itself. Saturday's winners face league champions VfB Stuttgart in Wednesday's semi-finals.
'We're not going to use any players with even slight injuries,' Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said. 'We want to win but it's not like this is the World Cup.'
