Frings ready to return - Naldo makes the squad
Torsten Frings is set to make his Bundesliga comeback this Sunday when Werder Bremen travel to Arminia Bielefeld. Following Saturday’s training session the midfielder said: “I don’t know yet if I will play but it’s really a nice feeling to be back in the team with the rest of the lads again. The main thing is that my knee holds out.”
Werder coach Thomas Schaaf is looking at the possibility of a run-out for the German international distinctly positively: “We will discuss things again but it’s possible that he’ll be involved tomorrow.”
The same applies to central defender Naldo, who joined the team as they made their way to Westphalia. Knut Kircher to referee Werder’s visit to Bielefeld
Werder’s away day against Armenia Bielefeld this coming Sunday will be overseen by referee Knut Kircher. Kircher (39) has been refereeing for the German Football Federation (DFB) since 1997 and made his first appearance in the Bundesliga top flight during the 2001/2002 season where he has been in action on 102 occasions since. In 2004, Kircher joined the ranks of the FIFA officials.
Tobias Welz and Thorsten Schiffner will assist Kircher on the sidelines whilst Bibiana Steinhaus will function as the fourth official.
