Mitä ennen vuotta 1914 uskottiin ja odotettiin:

Miten asia nykyään kerrotaan:
”Milloin ’kansakuntien määräajat’ päättyisivät ja Jumalan valtakunta alkaisi hallita? Vastaus, joka sinetöitiin ’lopun aikaan asti’, liittyy Raamatun ajanlaskuun (Daniel 12:9). Kun tuo ’aika’ lähestyi, Jehova alkoi paljastaa vastausta ryhmälle nöyriä Raamatun tutkijoita. Jumalan hengen avulla he ymmärsivät, että ”kansakuntien määräajat” alkoivat, kun Jerusalem tuhoutui vuonna 607 eaa., ja että nuo ’ajat’ kestäisivät 2 520 vuotta. Ja tottakai Vartiotorniseura on tällaisesta huolimatta moitteeton
"Ryhmänä orjaluokka on antanut erinomaisen mallin ”seuraamalla jatkuvasti Karitsaa, minne hän meneekin”. - - Heidän suustaan ei löydetä mitään opillisia valheita, ja he pysyvät ”moitteettomina” eli puhtaina Saatanan maailman tahroista." (Vartiotorni 15. helmikuuta 2009, s. 24)

1925 : Ohessa joitakin lainauksia Järjestön omasta kirjallisuudesta koskien nykyisen asiainjärjestelmän loppua ennustettuna vuodelle 1925 ja joiden painotettiin olevan jumalallisia alkuperää, ei ihmisistä lähtöisin:

Tämä on juuri se mistä 99% kritiikistä johtuu.
Historia on monta kertaa osoittanut ettei tuon järjestön johto tiedä mitä se tekee.
""Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." {WT Aug 1 1926 232}"
Ei mikään ihme että reilusti yli puolet jäsenistä erosi vuoden 1925 flopin jälkeen. Vastaava kirjoitus löytyy myös vuodelta 1976, koskien 1975 maailmanloppua, jossa vastuu sysätään taas rivijäsenille.
Ihmettelen kuinka tällaista tekstiä voi uskoa, kun muutama vuosi aiemmin Vartiotorni kertoi kuinka "vain muutama vuosi enää".
Liekö ihmisten muisti lyhyt, vaiko vain valikoiva?
