I take it that men and women will, in these kingdoms, be just what the so-called Christian world expects us all to be – neither man nor woman, merely immortal beings having received the resurrection.

Mormoneille seksuaalisuus ja kaikki siihen liittyvä on ollut päähänpinttymä kirkon alkuajoista lähtien. Jo kirkon perustaja käytti heti asemaansa hyväkseen ja väitti saaneensa 'jumalalta' ilmoituksen siitä, että hänellä pitää olla useita naisia, koska Vanhassa testamentissa reilut 2000 vuotta aikaisemmin oli ollut moniavioisuutta.
Tästä seurasi mormonismin historiassa pitkä mormonijohtajien haureellisen elämän kausi, jonka vuoksi tavalliset rivimormonit joutuivat kerran toisensa jälkeen jättämään kotinsa, myymään talonsa ja maatilansa tai pikku verstaansa pilkkahintaan ja seuraamaan johtajiaan uusille asuma-alueille.
Kun mormonijohtajat viimein jäivät kiikkiin ja joutuivat oikeuteen Yhdysvaltain avioliittolakien rikkomisesta kirkon johto sai ' jumalalta' ilmoituksen kymmenysten laista. Rivijäseniltä kerätyillä kymmenyksillä saatiin maksetuksi johtajien kovat sakot eivätkä nämä joutuneet vankilaan.
Muistamme kirkon historiasta piispa Snown, joka kuohitutti nuorukaisen koska halusi tämän morsiamen jalkavaimokseen.
Muistamme, miten mormoniprofeetta Brigham Young ennusti, että kerran tulevat olemaan kaikki 'jumalan' valtakunnan lait täydessä voimassaan ja silloin eunukkeja on tuhansia.
Muistamme profeetta Youngin kannan mustaihoisten ja valkoihoisten välisistä avioliitoista. Rikosta ei voi sovittaa kuin verisovituksella, eli 'jumalan valtakunnan lakeja' rikkoneen kurkku on viillettävä auki ja hänen verensä vuodatettava maahan.
Tänäkin päivänä osa mormoneista Yhdysvalloissa on moniavioisia.
Suomessa moniavioisia mormoneja ei ole. Sen sijaan he tilittävät tarkasti omien seurakuntiensa piispoille kaiken omaan seksuaalikäyttäytymiseensä liittyvän päästäkseen osallistumaan temppeliseremonioihin.
