Eteenkin viimeisen 50 vuoden aikana on USA:ssa kaikki demokraattiset instituutiot rapautumassa huolestuttavaa vauhtia. Kahden puolueen järjestelmän sijasta Captitol kukkulalla häärii todellisuudessa vain yksi puolue jonka markkinavoimat ovat hitsanneet yhteen ja tehneet siitä sen käskyläisen.

USA:ssa kahmii tätänykyä rikkain 1% noin 40% kaikista tuloista. Rooman imperiumin aikaan rikkain prosentti otti "vain" 16% kaikista tuloista. Ts. Rooman imperiumi oli tasa-arvoisampi yhteiskuntana kuin tämä ääliöiden ihannoima USA.
Vaurain 400 omistaa jo enemmän kuin väestöstä 150 miljoonaa.
