VERISOVITUS

se tarkoittaa sitä mitä B.Young opetti:
On syntejä joita Kristuksen veri ei sovita, ja jos nämä synnintekijät tajuaisivat kamalan tilansa, he antaisivat verensä vuotaa sovitukseksi!

There are sins that can be atoned for by an offering upon an altar, as in ancient days; and there are sins that the blood of a lamb, or a calf, or of turtle dove, cannot remit, but they must be atoned for by the blood of the man." Se on varsin kattava selostus verisovituksesta. Ikävä kyllä sitä ei ole suomeksi, mutta olen pyytänyt sen suomentamista.

Mormonioppien mukaan mm. vaimon suorittama aviorikos, mormonikirkosta eroaminen (jos on siihen uskonut) ja mustaihoisen naiminen ovat niin vakavia syntejä, että Kristuksen veri ei riitä sovittamaan niitä, vaan "syntisen" on kuoltava siten, että hänen verensä roiskuu maahan.
