Raamatun mukaan ihmisillä on vain kaksi vaihtoehtoa kuoleman jälkeen: kadotus tai taivas. Raamattu myös ilmaisee, mitä Jumala on tehnyt ihmisten pelastamiseksi. Hän lähetti Jeesuksen Kristuksen kuolemaan ja kärsimään, sekä tuomittavaksi meidän puolestamme. Ihmisellä on mahdollisuus pelastua tai suhtautua välinpitämättömästi pelastukseen.
Jumala tulee tuomitsemaan ehdottoman oikeudenmukaisesti eli vanhurskaasti.

Kyllä Paavali sanoi että yläilmoihin mennään taivaaseen Kristusta vastaan ja muututaan siinä matkalla, saadaan taivaallinen keho ilman kuolemaa. Hän kertoi sen suurena salaisuutena ja odotti että hänelle itselleen myös käy niin. Miten ei kuitenkaan käynyt, joten hieman erehtyväinen Paavali oli, mutta ei kuitenkaan asettanut mitään tarkkaa päivämäärää, että sinä ja sinä päivänä se Jeesus tulee eikä istunut kivelle odottamaan milloin tässä temmataan. Hän tyytyi siihen mikä oli Jumalan tahto tässäkin asiassa.

Harhaoppiset tietenkin pitävät Paavalia täydellisenä valehtelija ja pitävät puheita tempauksesta pilkkanaan, että niin muka voisi tapahtua. Se on juuri harhaoppisten tapa suhtautua Raamattuun. He kyllä sitä innolla lainaavat toisten pään menoksi, mutta eivät silti usko siihen mitä siellä on kirjoitettu.
