The Russian Tu-154 jetliner got a command to descend from the Swiss air-traffic controller only 50 seconds before crossing the trajectory of the Boeing cargo plane, the police chief of Germanys Baden-Wurttemberg Land told a press conference on Tuesday.
Swiss and German air safety investigators at the news conference declined to say whether the Russian jet had been given enough time to change course. They said they could comment on the cause of the crash only when they had more facts. Jean Overney, head of the Swiss air accident investigation bureau, said the Zurich-based air traffic controller on duty at the time of the crash was in shock and had not yet spoken to investigators.
Maag said the air traffic controller was working alone as his partner took a break because of the light air traffic. Five planes were in the sector they were monitoring at the time, which included the two crashed planes

Swiss air traffic control, which was in charge of the flight path of both planes, initially said it had given the Tupolev-154 roughly two minutes advance notice and that the pilot did not begin descending to avoid the cargo jet until a third request.
The Swiss revised their account after the German government agency for air accident investigations said the Russian pilot was given only about 50 seconds warning to change altitude and reacted after a second notice.

Eli sveitsiläiset siis muuttivat kertomustaan? Miksi?
Ensin väitetään että varoitus tuli kaksi minuuttia enne törmäystä ja kone reagoi kolmanteen kutsuun.
Sitten muutetaan 50 sekuntiin ja toiseen kutsuun.
Miksi?
