A few hours after drawing international concerns over its violation of the UN-brokered end of hostilities with Lebanon, Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz and others said recently that they are preparing for the next round of its war on Lebanon.
"We will examine the issues that have been pointed out as failures," a senior government official quoted Defense Minister Amir Peretz as telling the weekly cabinet meeting, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).
"We will put everything on the table. Our duty is to prepare for the next round," he said.
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said the Israeli operation was a violation of UN Security Council resolution 1701 which brought to an end the 33-day Israeli war that claimed the lives of close to 1,300 Lebanese, mostly civilians.

Kun israel ei saanut voittoa tavanomaisilla aseilla, nyt on tuo uhka myrkkyjen, tautien, kaasujen ym. kemiallisten aseitten käyttö, viimeisenä atomipommi jos eivät onnistu? Tuo käyttäytyminen on täysin muista piittaamatonta. Vieläkö sen jälkeen nähdään israelin puolustajia. Toivon kuitenkin hartaasti, että Libanon säilyy, ei niinkään israel.
sinne mistä ootte tulleetkin! Hizbollah pitöisi riisua aseista. Se piti tehdä jo ajat sitten mutta Libanonin armeijakaan ei uskalla sitä tehdä. Israel ei tule hyväksymään sitä että YK:n tuella Hizbollah saa taas levittäytyä aseineen Yk-tarkkailijoiden ja siviilien sekaan. Näinhän voidaan sitten väittää että Israel tappaa siviilejä...Valehtelua!
