Tuli tässä naurettua urakalla, kun huomasin aikoinaan seuraavan tekstinpätkän:
"...values are universal … [and] the triumph of these values is most assuredly easier when the international balance of power favors those who believe in them. But sometimes that favorable balance of power takes time to achieve. … And in the meantime, it is simply not possible to ignore and isolate other powerful states that do not share those values."
Miltä tämä kuulostaa? No tietenkin siinä kuulostaisi olevan joku Kommunisti kylmän sodan ajoilta selittämässä, mitä "Realpolitik" tarkoittaa, eli siis koska Kommunismi nojaa historialliseen dialektiikkaan, niin ennemmin tai myöhemmin se tulee voittamaan, koska sen arvot ovat universaalit. Siihen asti on pakko tulla toimeen vahvojen valtioiden kanssa, jotka eivät jaa näitä arvoja. Tätähän NL:n Realpolitik oli.
Paitsi että teksti KOKONAISUUDESSAAN kuuluu:

Jep. Kirjoittaja ei ole kommunisti, vaan Condoleezza Rice, Yhdysvaltain ulkoministeri. Ilmeisesti Yhdysvaltain arvot ovat 'universaaleja' ja ennemmin tai myöhemmin kaikki tulevat ottamaan ne vastaan? Mieleeni tulee, että mieluummin olisin tekemisissä vaikka Burman sotilasjuntan kanssa. Ainakaan he eivät petä itseään väittämällä omaavansa ainoat 'oikeat' arvot...
