Mies on naista parempi, mies päättää. Näin sanoo Koraani. Vallankäyttöä räikeimmillään!

"In Islam as practiced in everyday life, the association of
religious ideas with female circumcision is evident in
the colloquial terms used to describe the custom. The
use of the term sunna (meaning to follow the tradition
of the Prophet), implies that the custom is religiously
ordained. Similarly, although the classical Arabic term
for female circumcision is khifad (literally “reduction”),
in colloquial Arabic it is popularly called tahara, referring
to a ritual state of purity that is required for Islamic
prayer. In the bipolar opposition implied by the term tahara,
genitals in their natural state…are ritually impure.
In fact, in Egypt to ask if a woman is circumcised one
asks “Intii mutahara?” “Are you purified?”"
Muhammed leikkeli siis naisten sukupuolielimiä!! Tai leikkautti muilla. Juuri näin hän toimi.
eihän miesten ympärileikkaustakaan mainita Koraanissa.
Miksi sitten naisten ympärileikkaus on suuressa osassa islamilaista maailmaa tuntematon käsite?
Silpominen liittyy lähinnä aluelliseen tapakulttuuriin ollen yhteisöllinen ilmiö. Sitä tehtiin jo ennen Islamia ja jopa satoja vuosia ennen Kristusta.
= Christians, to do FGM? Was Muhammad there also??
----
FGM also occurs, in some immigrant communities, across Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and even Europe and North America. Religious links to FGM are unclear, since the practice occurs in both Muslim and Christian countries.

Is there any saheeh hadeeth about the circumcision of females?
Question:
Is there any evidence, such as a sahih hadeeth, that states that the prophet of Allah (Blessings and peace be upon him) had or allowed his wives and/or daughters to be circumcised in any shape or form?.
Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
We do not know of any hadeeth in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ordered that his wives or daughters be circumcised, but it is narrated that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) advised a woman who did circumcision in Madeenah as to the proper way of circumcision. It was narrated by Abu Dawood (5271), al-Tabaraani in al-Awsat, and al-Bayhaqi in al-Shu’ab from Umm ‘Atiyyah al-Ansaariyyah that a woman used to do circumcision in Madeenah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to her: “Do not go to the extreme in cutting; that is better for the woman and more liked by the husband.” This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
According to another report: “Take only a little and do not go to extremes.”
It is also indicated by the general meaning of the evidence that has been narrated concerning circumcision, such as the hadeeth in al-Bukhaari (5891) and Muslim (527) from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him): I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “The fitrah is five things – or five things are part of the fitrah – circumcision, shaving the pubes, trimming the moustache, cutting the nails and plucking the armpit hairs.”
In Saheeh Muslim (349) it is narrated from ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When a man sits between the four parts (arms and legs of his wife) and the two circumcised parts meet, then ghusl is obligatory.”
According to a report narrated by al-Tirmidhi (109) and elsewhere: “When the two circumcised parts meet…”
Al-Bukhaari used this phrase as a chapter heading.
Al-Haafiz ibn Hajar (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: What is meant by this metaphor is the circumcised parts of the man and the woman.
Female circumcision is done by cutting a small part of the skin that looks like a rooster’s comb, above the exit of the urethra. The Sunnah is not to cut all of it, but rather a part of it. Al-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah (19/28).
The Shaafa’is, the Hanbalis according to the well-known view of their madhhab, and others are of the view that circumcising women is obligatory. Many scholars are of the view that it is not obligatory in the case of women; rather it is Sunnah and is an honour for them.
But we would like to point out here that it has medical benefits to which attention should be paid, regardless of the difference of opinion among the scholars as to whether it is obligatory or mustahabb. This has been discussed in the answer to question no. 45528.

Filipino Cuts Off Penis in Fit of Religious Fervor
http://www.answering-christianity.com/slice_off_penis.htm
"BACOLOD, Philippines (Reuters) - A 32-year-old Filipino farmer who believed his penis was driving him to sin sliced it off with a machete in a fit of religious fervor, family members and doctors said on Friday.
Relatives said they found the former security guard lying on the floor, covered in blood and with a portion of his penis missing when they went to his hut on Negros island in the southern Philippines on Monday.
``He is a good son, and one of seven children, He indulged himself by reading the Bible,'' his mother told reporters in Bacolod City 306 miles south of Manila, where the man is now in hospital.
``His act was probably triggered by the book of Matthew 18:8,'' she said.
The verse, from the New Testament, reads ``If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.''

http://www.answering-christianity.com/genital_mutilation.htm
"I was asked this question before: Is genital mutilation for females allowed in Islam? The answer is no, it is not. Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him clearly prohibited mutilation or maiming of the body:
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Yazid Al-Ansari: "The Prophet forbade robbery (taking away what belongs to others without their permission), and also forbade mutilation (or maiming) of bodies. (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Oppressions, Volume 3, Book 43, Number 654)"
....
There is, however, a weak Hadith from Sunan Abu Dawood that suggest that female circumcision is allowed:
"Umm Atiyyah" is an Arabic title for a female, which means "mother of Atiyyah". This is a very weak narration, because the Saying seems to contradict the other Sayings that I provided, and the narrator was not a companion or a wife of our Prophet peace be upon him. Narrations from a "Sahih" ("authentic" in English) volume source such as "Sahih Bukhari" and "Sahih Muslim" and others are more authentic, because they all come from trustful resources (i.e., Companions or wives of the Prophet). Narrations from "Sunan Abu-Dawud" volume are not always authentic. Unless the narration from "Sunan Abu-Dawud" volume was narrated by a companion of our Prophet, there is no way it can be considered as a reliable source.
Just because some woman came out of no where and decided to narrate a Saying about our Prophet, doesn't make this Saying a valid one. Many so-called Sayings of our Prophet were marked "weak", and this is one of them for the reasons I mentioned.
To further prove this claim, let us look at this Saying from a "Sahih" ("authentic" in English) volume:
Narrated Um Salama: "Um Sulaim came to Allah's Apostle and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Verily, Allah does not feel shy to tell the truth. If a woman gets a nocturnal sexual discharge (has a wet dream), is it essential for her to take a bath? He replied, "Yes if she notices a discharge.' (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Good Manners and Form (Al-Adab), Volume 8, Book 73, Number 142)"
This saying doesn't suggest that female genital mutilation was practiced among Muslims.
Allah Almighty honored the intimacy between the husband and the wife:
It is important to know that Allah Almighty in the Noble Quran mentioned that He created the men and women to marry and to love each others and to have intimacy:
"And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): Verily in that are Signs for those who reflect. (The Noble Quran, 30:21)"
"It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): 'If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful.' (The Noble Quran, 7:189)"
"Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments. Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves;...(The Noble Quran, 2:187)"
How can female genital mutilation be allowed in the above Noble Verses? How can female genital mutilation be allowed in Islam?"

Abu-Dawud's collection is recognized by the overwhelming majority of the Muslim world to be one of the most authentic collections of the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh), however it is also known to contain some WEAK ahadith (some of which he pointed out, others which he did not).

SUNAN ABU DAWUD:
(d 275/888). One of the six collections, it contains 4800 hadiths mostly on legal matters. It was the first book of its type in hadith literature and is considered to be the best sunan. The author often points out the weakness and peculiarities in hadiths and their isnads or expresses his preference among the variants of a hadith. It is one of the most comprehensible collections.
