Adventtikirkon ylin johto eli Pääkonferenssi antaa sapattitutkiskeluohjeissaan viittaukset adventistien omaan Raamatun käännökseen Clear Word Bibleen. (Suomalaiset sanovat omaa Raamatun käännöstä parafraasiksi koska adventisti ei myönnä mitään ja heillä on sokea usko adventtikirkon johdolle)

Kenelläkään ei ole suurempaa vaikutusvaltaa seitsemännen päivän adventisteihin kuin Ellen G. Whitella. He opettavat hänen olleen Jumalan innoittama profeetta, jonka virka on verrattavissa Mooseksen, Johannes Kastajan, Jeremian ja Jeesuksen palvelutehtävään (katso Adventist Review, kesäkuu 4, 1992, kansi ja sivut 3, 9). Ellen White itse kuvaili valtuuksiaan kehitellä spa:n teologiaa sanomalla: "Jumalan voima tuli ylleni, ja kykenin selvästi määrittelemään, mikä on totuutta ja mikä on erhettä.
