WHY FINISH MEN DRIVE SO RUDE

Hello,

I have met many well educated and gentle Finnish people in normal life.

But on the road....... Many are yes still OK but many are pretty crazy rude drivers.

Today I tried to pass ahead one VV van on Tuusulan tie 45 cause that car was driving slower than what it was supposed to be.

But that car started to speed up when I changed the line to the left lane and I had to speed up till 120~130 to pass ahead of it.

Then of course I slowed down cause that road was like 100km/h road.

And that VV van came to in front of my car and slowed down quickly.

I felt of danger and changed the lane to the left again.

That car again came to my lane to block me? :S WHY?

HELL of experience in Finland today.

      basicly you are right, it doesnt matter what the situation is,basic line is, that people doesn't tolerate diffrent behaviour or anything different, look color, sad isn't it? in here, some people are i guess trying to force you in some kind of "form" and reactions vary from side to side.

        He or she? And still your saying "why are finnish men so rude". If you don't know whether it was a man or not, why are you supposing it was?

        it was he or she who was driving that VV van.

        but i am now talking about finnish men driving rude in general. Not that one guy or woman.

      We dont like people who drive faster than us or slower than us. We just try stay in front of everyone.

        If you drive more you will notice there are plenty of the people I mentioned. In normal roads (not highway) they accelerate when you try to overtake. They drive slowly in places where it's not possible overtake. If there is an overtaking lane, they will accelerate to keep you behind.

        Try driving from Helsinki to Oulu through the western finland and you will see.

        It seems to be a common sense that many Finnish drivers are rude.

        But lucky enough, not that many times I meet that kinda rude drivers on the high way. Maybe a couple of times a year (the worst ones).

        They are called "kotipoliisi", they guys are home learned polices. They try to prevent you from breaking laws, but dont hesitate to break law themselves.

      Some of them Finnish drivers are still playing in the sandbox, they don't grow up until late forties, or never.

      You were lucky, I suppose you were driving on a 2 2 lane road, so your left lane had no opposite traffic.

      I had a similar experience in the hillbilly country near Joensuu. Tried to overtake a slow driver, but he tried to speed up, I had to press the pedal down really hard and there was traffic coming ahead.

      I survived but then the mf passed me while I was driving 110 and slowed down to 80 though it was a 100 kph road.

      What did I do? I phoned 112 and told them that there is a guy driving ahead of me very uncertainly, told them what just happened, that he probably is DUI. I gave the registration number and the make and color of the car. After about 15-20 minutes an unmarked police car came with flashing lights and stopped the other guy. I drove happily on.

        It's great to know that Finnish polices take action that fast.

        I will do that when things happen like that.

        At least it's the fact that there are always rude and stupid people in any where in the world where ever you go.

        I am yet happy with Finnish people's gentle and calm attitudes in general.

        Stupid can't learn.

      You know as you drive wherever else but Finland you don't meet such drivers - not in Sweden, Norway, Germany, UK, U.S.

      But here in Finland there are quite a lot simple drivers... sad but true. Simple folk, simple people... and uncertain of themselves.

        i now kinda think many finns, especially those who drive big trucks many hundred kilos every day may have some melancholia problems. and cant just be calm on the road.

        some can be extremely dangerous on the road when another one tries to overtake him.

        well... who can help this. perhaps government has to encourage and support those delivery companies in their workers' quality lives.

        ive been having a great experience and a great picture of finland in general (gentle, peaceful, calm, etc etc etc).

        i never expected to find so simple people (or stupid people) in finland this easy.
