It has a GDP of roughly $186 billion, a higher unemployment rate today, and a deep reliance on trade. Its precious technology sector is suffering with Nokia’s decline and the CIA Factbook noted that general government finances will remain in deficit during the next few years. Being rich in timber today does not weigh as much as being reliant entirely on imports of energy, raw materials, and many components for manufacturing. While 2010 debt to GDP was only 45.4 percent, it is easy to argue that this could skyrocket higher in hard times. Moody's saattaa laskea OP-Pohjolan luottoluokituksia
Luottoluokittaja Moody's on asettanut OP-Pohjola-ryhmän luottoluokitukset tarkkailuun. Päätös koskee myös Pohjola Pankkia ja Pohjola Vakuutusta. Moody's harkitsee samalla yhtiöiden luottoluokituksen laskua.
Moody's arvioi, että OP-Pohjola-ryhmän taloudellista vahvuutta ja Pohjola Pankin pitkien luottojen luokituksia lasketaan korkeintaan yhdellä pykälällä.
– Arvioimme, että luokituksen laskulla ei ole käytännön vaikutuksia, kertoo OP-Pohjola-ryhmän talousjohtaja Harri Luhtala.
Luhtalan mukaan kaksi muuta luokittajaa, Fitch ja Standard & Poors, ovat antaneet jo alemman luottoluokituksen.
Moody'sin mukaan suomalaispankin tuloksentekokyky on heikentynyt. Yhtiö myös kiinnittää huomiota toimialakeskittymiin ja ongelmaluottojen tasoon.
Luhtala ihmettelee luottoluokittajan perusteluja.
– Meidän mielestämme ongelmasaatavien määrä on erittäin alhaisella tasolla.
