Ohessa tekstiä maailman toiselta laidalta, eli monen suomalaisenkin aikuisen pähkäilemä lapsiaikuisten ilmaantuminen on yleismaailmallinen ongelma. Sääli. Hehän siinä lapsuutensa menettävät.

I went to see Spiderman 2 the other night, and sitting next to me was a group of teenagers, errr pre-teens (whatever that means) watching the movie and making out with each other. They were all tiny, clearly no older than 13, but somehow their parents had allowed the girls to go out wearing close to nothing, and an entire MAC counter smeared on their face. The boys were in baggy clothes and rested their feet on skateboards they had probably used to transport themselves to the movie theater.
I thought about what kind of parent a person would have to be not to care that their little girl was off humping some boys’ leg in a movie theater instead of having a pool party with her friends or something.
On the way home, I heard on the radio that the average age for young girls to give oral sex for the first time was now 12. 12!
To me this is incredible. My personal life aside, I can’t even begin to think of how I would feel if I was a parent and I knew that my little girl was giving guys blow jobs before she even got her first period.
I knew a family who had two daughters, both under fifteen. The mom went with the girls to get their hair bleached blonde and go tanning, and then paraded the girls around with her on State Street wearing practically nothing. Both girls, even the 13 year old, had their belly buttons pierced, and wore more makeup than Cleopatra. Frankly, it made me nauseous.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for honesty between kids and their parents. I do believe however that there is a definite limit on how close parents and their kids should be. The parent child relationship is just that, a parent-child relationship.
Parents should be looking out for their kids, making sure they aren’t getting into trouble, and just generally ensuring their kids aren’t running wild, acting like a bunch of little shits, and annoying the hell out of us older and wiser people who know that the world does not revolve around us.
I am a pretty open minded person. I believe that kids should be free to explore life and experience things for themselves. But I am also sensible. Not one day goes by that I don’t miss being a little girl, and not having a care in the world. I wouldn’t trade the life I’ve had, but seeing these kids trying to grow up so fast really scares the shit out of me, and makes me sad. I know that when I have children of my own, I plan on making good and sure they get the most out of being a kid while they still can. There are countless studies out there that show how growing up too fast can hamper your psychological well-being. And if I never have to see a little made-up, hoochie clothes-wearing 11-year-old, it will be too damn soon."

meille aikuisille. Lapsuus on turhan lyhyt nykyisin. Lasten ei anneta enää olla lapsia, vaan heidän pitää kasvaa äkkiä pikku aikuiseksi. Mikä lapsuuden muuttumiseen sitten vaikuttaa?
- mainonta. Lasten vaatteetkin ovat kopioita aikuisten vaatteista
- yli korostunut seksi joka paikassa (elokuvat, musiikki, mainonta, vaateteollisuus jne.)
- vanhemmuuden katoaminen, vanhemmat ovat itsekin vähän hukassa ja eivät pysty tai osaa asettaa rajoja. Lasten on tavallaan selviydyttävä liikaa itsekseen niillä eväillä mitkä heillä ovat käytössä...
- normaalin leikin katoaminen. Tilalle ovat tulleet videopelit yms. Ei osata pelata tai leikkiä enää vanhoja kunnon leikkejä tai pelejä esim. kymmentä tikkua laudalla jne. Tavallaan tuntuu kuin lapsena olemisesta on tehty jollain lailla hävettävää...ei uskalleta olla enää lapsellisia lapsia. Kun leikki katoaa, jotain oleellista puuttuu lapsuudesta. Leikin varjolla lapsi opettelee elämän taitoja.
- Alituinen kiire lapsilla sekä aikuisilla. Vanhemmilla ei ole enää aikaa lapsille, kun työelämä on niin vaativaa ja joillekin vapaa-ajan harrastuksetkin ovat lasten edellä.
- Koulumaailman vaatimusten kasvu. Kolmasluokkalaisen pitäisi melkeinpä jo osata englantia. Lapsilla on hirveät paineet tänä päivänä oppia, muuten putoaa kelkasta auttamattomasti ja elämä on pilalla. Läksyjä on monesta aineesta niin paljon, että illat kotona meneekin sitten läksyjä tehdessä.
- Monet lapset nukkuvat liian vähän ja lepo on ehdottoman tärkeää niin lapsille kuin aikuisillekin. väsyneet lapset käyttäytyvät eri tavalla kuin levänneet. Veikkaanpa, että tulevaisuudessa on vielä enemmän psykiatrisia potilaita kuin nykyisin ja loppuunpalannutta nuorisoa :(
- alkoholi ja huumeet. Yhä nuoremmat lapset juovat ja käyttävät aineita, sillä nuoret kuvittelevat huumeiden käytön olevan coolia ja jos kaverit käyttää - kynnys kokeiluun on matala. Joistain nuorista elämä on varmaan niin kovaa, että he kuvittelevat paon todellisuudesta olevan jonkinlaisen ratkaisun heidän sisäisiin ongelmiinsa.
Tässä oli muutamia juttuja, jotka mielestäni vaikuttavat lasten olemiseen tänä päivänä. Aikuistuminen on hirveän vaikeaa ja lapsuudesta nuoret eivät uskalla tai eivät saa enää nauttia tarpeeksi, kun monilta puuttu se turvallisuuden tunnekin ja elämä on epävarmaa..Jatketaan keskustelua, sillä aihe on tärkeä. ja heittäkää kommenttia....
