"Ahead of Monday’s Eurogroup, Schaeuble had insisted that no writedown of Greek debt could be considered at this stage as Greece was still being granted new loans.
"You cannot guarantee something if you’re cutting debt at the same time,» he said."
(Reuters) - Greece narrowed its central government budget deficit, excluding local authority and social security spending, by 37 percent in the first nine months of 2012, the finance ministry said on Thursday, but revenues were still off target.
Spending cuts reduced the budget gap to 12.6 billion euros ($16.3 billion) from 20.1 billion in the same period last year.
Kreikka leikkasi tämän vuoden aikana (9kk) valtion menoja 37%:lla (poislukien sosiaaliturva+ paikallishallinto) ja säästi niin tehden noin 7,5 miljardia euroa.
Viime vuonna leikkauksia tehtiin samalla summalla.
Tähän Olli Rehn oli ilmeisesti tyytyväinen. Ollihan hoki koko viime viikon, että Kreikka on täyttänyt lupauksensa/velvoitteensa.
