Tätä eivät Matti Vanhanen, Jarmo Korhonen ja Jorma Ollila ymmärtäneen kun veivät Suomen IT-osaamisen turmioon sitomalla sen Microsoftin ekosysteemiin. Muualla maailmassa sen sijaan on jo muutaman vuoden ajan arvioitu ettei Microsoftilla ole edessä loistavaa tulevaisuutta. Nyt Gartner-yhtiö analyyseissään arvioi jo että vuoteen 2017 menessä Microsoftista on tullut täysin yhdentekevä ja turha yhtiö.

In a report released Friday, Gartner Inc. said shipments of devices using Google’s Android operating system and Apple's iOS might put Microsoft out of business.
The basis of this theory is that mobile device shipments will be considerably higher than desktop and notebook computers.
“Microsoft could be completely irrelevant in three or four years if they can’t make headway in the smartphone or tablet market, where they’ve been struggling,” says The Daily Ticker's Henry Blodget.
