eli ennen logitech quickcam messenger toimi ihan ok. sitten kaverin pyynnöstä päivitin win xp:n automatic updatella (en ollut tehnyt sitä ainakaan vuoteen). Nytpä ei enää toimi mikki, kuva kyllä näkyy.
Kun koitan asentaa kameran cd:ltä ajureita mikkiä varten tulee seuraava herja:
There was problem installing this hardware:
Logitech microphone (messenger)
An error occurred during the installation of the device: The driver installation file for this device is missing a neccessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for win 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.
Olen koittanu myös asentaa kameran ajurit suoraan logitechin sivulta. Kun windows löytää uuden laitteen, se tunnistaa kameran, mutta sitten win herjaa että laitetta ei voitu asentaa loppuun.
Auttakaapa viisaat. Kiitos etukäteen

"Frequently Asked Questions about Microphones (extract from www.logitech.com)
Q: Why doesn't my microphone register sound or it records sound through my other microphone?
A: This issue can occur when the Logitech USB Microphone has not been set as the preferred device. Use the following instructions to set the preferred recording device in Windows.
Click "Start," "Settings," and "Control Panel."
Double click "Sounds/Multimedia." (Windows 98 users should double click on "Multimedia.")
Click the Audio tab.
Under Preferred Device for Recording, select the Logitech microphone.
If setting the Logitech USB Microphone to be the preferred device does not correct the problem, verify the microphone is being loaded properly in Device Manager using the following steps:
Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties" from the menu. (Windows XP Default view users, click on "Start," then right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties.")
Select the Device Manager tab. (Windows XP and Windows 2000 users, click on the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager button.)
Click the ( ) sign next to "Sound, Video and Game Controllers."
There should be an entry for the "Logitech USB Microphone". If there is no listing for the "Logitech USB Microphone", reinstall the software.
Q: Why is the microphone on my camera not working?
A: A microphone may not record sound for two basic reasons: a hardware problem or an application problem. To determine if you are experiencing a hardware or software problem, first test the microphone in Windows Sound Recorder using the following instructions.
Click "Start," "Programs" ("All Programs" for Windows XP), "Accessories," "Entertainment," and "Sound Recorder."
Click the Record button and speak into the microphone of the camera. You should see the green line move, indicating the application is picking up sound.
Click the Stop button.
Click the Play button. If there is no sound at playback, check to make sure the correct device is selected.
a. Click "Edit," then "Audio Properties."
b. Make sure Logitech is listed as the Preferred device for "Sound recording."
If you still cannot record sound, and you don't have a Multimedia keyboard installed, it is likely a hardware problem. The microphone may not be detected by Windows or may not be correctly configured. Use the instructions in the "Troubleshooting Hardware Conflicts" section of Customer Support Document #4714, "Standard Diagnostics for Logitech USB Video Cameras." The microphone may also be defective. To test this, try the camera on another USB enabled system.
If you can record sound in Sound Recorder, but not in the QuickCam application, try setting the Logitech Microphone as the Preferred device in Audio Properties.
If you have a multimedia keyboard installed, i.e your keyboard has button on it which automatically controls the volume on your computer, the software for the multimedia keyboard may need to be uninstalled in order for the camera's microphone to work properly in Windows. If you have a multimedia keyboard, please contact Logitech with the make and model of the Multimedia keyboard that is causing the problem. While we will not be able to assist you other than to advise to uninstall the keyboard software, it will help us determine the root cause of the incompatibility.
