Recently someone close to me was misdiagnosed with epilepsy. The person is already on his late 20’s and has had only one episode of seizure in his whole life. The MRI and the EEG both showed no alterations at all and don’t back up any issues with the brain function. Epilepsy diagnose not only imposes him to take a medicine that he most likely doesn’t need for the rest of his life but also cause issues because of the 12 month driving ban. His occupational doctor had already let him know that he does not fit an epilepsy diagnose before this diagnose was issued by the neurologist, she assured that the tests showed nothing wrong but still they put him as epileptic. I would really like to know how to appeal this diagnose in the easiest and most effective way, without needing to make a lawsuit.
How to appeal a misdiagnose?
