NYT Predicts Ohio Will Drop ID
Jodi Rudoren of the New York Times reports in this morning's edition that a "majority of members on the Board of Education of Ohio, the first state to single out evolution for 'critical analysis' in science classes more than three years ago, are expected on Tuesday to challenge a model biology lesson plan they consider an excuse to teach the tenets of the disputed theory of intelligent design."
"A reversal in Ohio would be the most significant in a series of developments signaling a sea change across the country against intelligent design — which posits that life is too complex to be explained by evolution alone — since a federal judge's ruling in December that teaching the theory in the public schools of Dover, Pa., was unconstitutional," says the Times.

Eipä ole tällä palstallakaan enää pitkään aikaan ID:stä keskusteltu. On enää vain näitä raamatulla päähän super kretiineitä kuten S.U.P.
Niin musta tuntuu että toisten (joo en ole katkera ;) viesteihin vastataan vaan kovin herkästi, sitten jos joku kirjoittaa asiallisesti ihan hyvän kysymyksen, siihen ei ehkä otetakkaan kantaa...

Ohiossakin tuli takkiin. ID:n opetus poistettiin koulun ohjeista. Epätoivoiset IDiootit yrittivät uskotella, että selvä enemmistö asukkaista on IDn kannattajia, vaikka tieteessä ei valita totuuksia maallikoiden huutoäänestyksellä.
Kaiken huipuksi "tutkimus" oli heti alusta asti suuniteltu antamaan tilaajan haluama tulos.

Blogia pitää Dr. Nisbet joka on sanojensa mukaan mielipidetutkimusten asiantuntija.
Kysymykset olivat:
A) Biology teachers should teach only Darwin's scientific theory of evolution and the scientific evidence that supports it.
B) Biology teachers should teach Darwin's theory of evolution, but also the scientific evidence against it.
C) None of the above."
No, ehkä ne sitten ohjaavat jotain äänestäjiä. Kyllä keskivertoihminen tosiaan jättäisi A:n valitsematta, jos vaihtoehtona olisi tasapuolinen asian tarkastelu.
Koulutus on muuten eri asia, kuin tiede. Koulutuksesta päätetään tosiaan kansalaisäänestyksin, meilläkin vaalien välityksellä.
Tieteessä ei valita totuuksia maallikoiden huutoäänestyksellä (tai ei ainakaan pitäisi valita niin), mutta koulutuspolitiikassa valitaan se, mitä opetetaan sen mukaan, mitä veronmaksajat rahoillaan haluavat saada.
