Seuraavassa on esimerkki englanninkielisestä adventistien Clear Word Bible -käännöksestä. Huolestuttavaa on huomata, että White:n omat tulkinnat on sisällytetty käännökseen katkoviivalla jakeen loppuihin. Näiden jakeiden perusteella lukija saisi Clear Word Bible -raamatusta sen käsityksen, että Jeesus olisi enkeli, eikä muun kristikunnan tuntema Kaikkivaltias Jumala.

Olen yli 50 vuota ollut adventisti enkä ole adventtikirkon julkisissa tilaisuuksissa tai jumalanpalveluksissa koskaan kuullut viitattavan siihen. En ole kyseistä kirjaa koskaan nähnytkään. Tällä palstalla olen lukenut muutamia viittauksia siihen. Hyvä kun informoitte meitä epätietoisia ihmisiä. Voihan se olla, että kyseessä on hyväkin kirja. Ulkopuolisten moite ei tietenkään kaikkea kerro, joten siihen olen jo aikoja sitten tottunut.
Adventistien Clear Word (Bible) on muuttanut esimerkiksi Raamatun TUONELA kohdat Ellen Whiten opetuksen mukaisiksi:
1. Matt 11:23 “You will be brought down to hades” changed “You will be brought down to your knees”
= TUONELA muutettu POLVIKSI
2. Matt 16:18 “…the gates of hades will not prevail” changed “the gates of wickedness will not…”

Onpa muuten monipuolinen kirja kielellisesti. Siinähän annetaan monia käännösmahdollisuuksia ja vielä hyvät kommentaaritkin päälle. Harvoin löytää tuollaisia kirjoja. En silti hanki sitä, mutta Uskova 1 on tainnut hankkia jo tuon kirjan. Minulle kumminkin riittää ihan tämä tavallinen kirkkoraamattu, jota me suomalaiset evankeliset kristityt luemme ahkerasti ja käytämmekin omissa jumalanpalveluksissamme. Adventistienkin jumalanpalveluksissa käytetään poikkeuksetta juuri tuota 1992 Kirkolliskokouksen hyväksymää käännöstä. Sitä papit sekä seurakunta käyttää.
Vielä vanholla päivillään, kun Ellen G. White jaksoi nousta saarnatuoliin, niin hän kohotti tavallisen Raamatun, ei mitään Ellenraamattua, ja suositteli sitä kirkkokansalle. Tuo Raamattu on hyvin todennäköisesti Kuningas Jaakon käännös. Hän ei suositellut mitään CWB-paraafraasia. Enkä usko, että olisi suositellutkaan tuota tällä palstalla Uskova 1 esittelemää CWB-parafraasia. Ei pidä kaikkien tyhjän päälle rakennettuja väitteitä tai olettamuksia uskoa.
Ellen ehkä kohotti Raamatun käsillään, mutta sanoillaan ja demonisilla näkyopetuksillaan hän survoi Raamatun jalkoihinsa.
En ole todellakaan kuullut koskaan kenenkään suomalaisen adventistin missään yhteydessä puolustavan CWB-parafraasia. En ole kuullut, että ssitä missään myytäisiin. En ole kuullut, että kukaan sitä missään esitelmässä, puheessa tai hartaudessa olisi koskaan lainannut. Pidän outona väittämänä täällä Suomessa sitä, että jotkut adventistit muka puolustaisivat ja esittelisivät CWB-parafraasia! Eikö tämä höpötys ole jo riittävän usein otettu esille. Tuskin siitä enää kukaan on edes kiinnostunut kirjoittelemaan.
Pyydän, että Uskova 1 vertaisi kahta viimeistä virallista kirkkoraamattua toisiinsa. Kerro meille oma käsityksesi siitä, missä määrin tai millä tavalla viimeinen on edellistä parempi. Tämä kiinnostaisi meitä enemmän. Sellaiseen keskusteluun voisi osallistua. Siinä olisi jotakin järkeä.
Minkähän takia vastaat jonkun muun aloitukseen ja sitten kysyt minulta: "Pyydän, että Uskova 1 vertaisi kahta viimeistä virallista kirkkoraamattua toisiinsa. Kerro meille oma käsityksesi siitä, missä määrin tai millä tavalla viimeinen on edellistä parempi."
1992 on huomattavasti huonompi kuin edellinen käännös 1933/1938, liberaaliteologien lässäytyksiä tärkeissä kohdissa. En suosittele.
Esim. "Ettekö huomaa, että Jeesus Kristus on teidän keskellänne?" (2 Kor 13:5) Merkityksetön lätinä.
Mutta vanhempi käännös: "Vai ettekö tunne, että Jeesus on teissä." Täysin eri asia. Jeesus voi olla vain uskovissa ja tuossa käsketään koettelemaan. Jos on, ihminen on uskossa - jos ei, niin ihminen ei ole uskossa. Eli kokonaan: "Koetelkaa itseänne, oletteko uskossa; tutkikaa itseänne. Vai ettekö tunne itseänne, että Jeesus Kristus on teissä? Ellei, niin ette kestä koetusta" (2 Kor 13:5)
