John simply chose to reach a generation on another level, and as far as his statement about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus, this was designed to shock the whole world, and to make everyone realize this pop culture thing is getting out of hand.
And yes, Christianity will go, because the true message of Christ had nothing to do with religion! If you truly are with Christ Jesus you would know his most fearsome enemies were the chief captains of religion, the Sanhedrin.

John Lennon taisi laulaa: "some may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one..." Siinä, missä ihminen uneksii jostain asioista, hän myös näkee mahdollisuuden tuon asian tapahtumiselle. Valitettavasti Lennonin utopia taitaa pysyä niin kauan utopiana kuin ihmisillä on tarve ymmärtää kaikki päin persettä.
Minusta on samantekevää oliko Lennon uskova tai ateisti, mutta ilmeisesti jollain on tarve nyt liittää Lennon kristittyihin. Lennon utopia on kaunis ja mielestäni se on ekumeeninen, se on kaikkien ihmisten unelma paremmasta maailmasta. Valitettavasti Imagine-biisi on ateistinen, koska se pyytää ihmisiä ajattelemaan, ettei taivasta ole olemassa ja, että maailma olisi parempi paikka, jos ei olisi kotia, uskontoa ja isänmaata, ei mitään syytä taistella ja tapella. Veijosen taistelu on ilmeisesti käynnissä kaikesta huolimatta. Ei osoita juurikaan, että ymmärtäisit Lennonin ATEISMISTA, saati KRISTILLISYYDESTÄ, saati HUMANISMISTA, saati BUDDHALAISUUDESTA.
