Most of the economy in Sweden is strangled by the state. The bureaucrats are everywhere. For instance, a drugstore will often have four persons simultaneously working to serve one customer; one will say hello, please give me your prescription, the second will look for the bottle of medicine, the third one will type with two fingers, and the fourth will read to you what has been typed just in case you thought you could get away with reading it yourself. That's just one example. Remember, more than half of the Swedish economy is controlled by the state.
