Until the last decade the only way to engage in public debate in Finland was to send letters to news papers, which, obviously, were heavily filtered—TV and radio even more so—and the number of letters published was very small. Internet and the new social media have given an unlimited virtual forum for everybody to express their views so that now everyone can become a political commentator. Finns are very sluggish and reserved people in general and it is extremely difficult to agitate them to join demonstrations or start riots. Now, however, they have turned out to be passionate and often quite aggressive writers in discussion forums. People who assumed they were alone with their thoughts have now realized that there are hundreds of thousands of others who think alike: the snow ball effect is gaining momentum among the masses of writers and readers making True Finns stronger and stronger.
The success of the True Finns is basically the revenge of those people who were effectively silenced since the late 60’s. In Finland this silencing started around the 1966 general elections when leftist radicalism became dominant among the student generation and quickly spread from the universities over the entire society. The general elections of April 17th 2011 now mark the passing of that old left-green-liberal paradigm and the rise of a new nationalist and conservative paradigm. The intellectual landscape in Finland and in the western world in general is about to change once again. We are about to witness a new wave of radicalism, an anti-thesis to the 60’s revolution.
The sudden rise of the True Finns as a mass movement is identical with what is going on in the Arabic world today: social/cultural pressure new uncensored way of communication => change. Just like the Reformation in the 16th century was powered by the newly invented printing technique and the French Revolution by the news papers, Internet will power the coming European Revolution."

Murros ei ilmeisesti koskaan ole kuullut SMP:stä jos hän kerran pitää PerS-puolueen vaalimenestystä jotenkin ennennäkemättömänä ilmiönä suomalaisessa politiikassa!
Murroksen jutut ovat muutenkin lähinnä tietylle poliittiselle ryhmittymälle suunnattua populistista soopaa jossa varsinaista sisältöä on äärettömän vähän, uusista ajatuksista tai oivalluksista nyt puhumattakaan. Jopa SVL:n yhteiskunnallisissa kommentaareissa on enemmän asiaa kuin Murroksen sanahelinässä.
