A DREAM wedding at a couple’s “perfect venue” was nearly ruined after a company went out of business.
Katie and Stacey Tushingham-Wright from Buckley lost £925 after paying out to LA Weddings & Events which has gone into liquidation.
The couple had saved for two years for their special day and had ordered chair covers with sashes, an aisle runner and bay trees from the Cambridgeshire-based firm for their ceremony in the Clwyd Room in Theatr Clwyd, Mold.
They also paid for table centres and covers, chair covers, a cake stand, a chocolate fountain and 4ft LED letters spelling ‘love’ for their reception – which was held at Buckley Working Men’s Club.
They were devastated to discover the company had folded but said staff at Theatr Clwyd went “totally above and beyond” to save the day.

They also praised Buckley firm Sugar & Spice on Brunswick Road, whose staff “transformed” their reception venue.
Workers at Theatr Clwyd swapped their ceremony from the Clwyd Room to the Anthony Hopkins Theatre where the couple wed in front of 170 guests on a stage which was set up for Much Ado About Nothing.
Katie, 32, said the first she heard about things going wrong at LA Weddings was when she noticed it on Facebook just two weeks before her big day.
“I couldn’t stop thinking that our perfect wedding, in just two week’s time, was ruined,” she said.
“Stacey and I had used all our savings from over two years on the wedding.
“We didn’t know what to do at first. We were in shock and just so upset and confused.”
Katie added: “We cannot thank Theatr Clwyd and Sugar & Spice enough.
“Although we were so upset and let down by LA Weddings & Events, our wedding day turned out to be better than we could have ever imagined.”
LA Weddings & Events was set up in 2014 and went into liquidation in June. No-one connected to the company was available for comment.
