Nigerian poliisi koitti pidättää Mohammed Yusufin,
islamilaisen lahkon johtajan, joka siinä melskeessä kuoli.
Hän kannatti islamilaista lakia, vastusti länsimaista kasvatusta joka vie uskon yhteen Jumalaan. Yusuf sanoo, että merkittävien uskonoppineiden mukaan länsimaisessa kasvatuksessa on aineksia, jotka ovat vastoin islamilaisia uskomuksia.
Yusuf sanoi:"Kuten sade. Me uskomme sen olevan Jumalan luomaa, eikä auringon aiheuttamaa vesihöyryä joka on tiivistynyt sateeksi."
"Kuten sanoa maata palloksi, se on vastoin Allahin opetuksia, me hylkäämme sen. Me myös hylkäämme Darwinismin teorian."

In an interview with the BBC before he was killed, Mr Yusuf, 39, said such education "spoils the belief in one God".
There are prominent Islamic preachers who have seen and understood that the present Western-style education is mixed with issues that run contrary to our beliefs in Islam," he said.
"Like rain. We believe it is a creation of God rather than an evaporation caused by the sun that condenses and becomes rain.
"Like saying the world is a sphere. If it runs contrary to the teachings of Allah, we reject it. We also reject the theory of Darwinism."
