africans, some answers pls

I know this is a thing concerning the whole Europe, Australia, USA and Canada but I am just writing it here to ask the Africans in Finland...without any hate or racism. I would like to ask why are you keeping up the illusion that you are rich when you are in Finland? I mean to your home country? People there think you are rich as soon as you step your foot in Europe. That is not true at all, but I would like to know why? And make people realistic what concerns European countries. Life here is not easy and specially in Spain or Italy. Have seen the terrible conditions many people are living and sending their all money back home, to show they are doing well, and the truth might be that they stay without food or any shelter for themselves, living in the streets. I know it is good to help the family back home but why keeping up the illusion that Europe is a paradise?

People back home want you to send everything, money, laptops, phones...not only your family, friends and the whole community, just because you are "rich" and you live in Europe. I know it is a shame to go back to your country and tell you have failed...I think that is only the true fact how life here is, hard and without jobs or home. No offence for anybody, i mean it.

Not only in Africa, but also Middle-East countries and people living there have some strange idea that when you step into Finland, money starts to fall from the sky. I know this 'cause my husbands family also expects us to send them money all the time, but I am student and my husband is unemployed.
Still my husband feels shame to tell them our true situation. It hurts me when my husband wants to send them money, and hears how his brothers and father have actually more money in their home country than us.

Esimerkiksi tuota sinun "By the way, I am not African."

I am African and I totally feel what you mean, but the things is no one is trying to convince anybody anything at all.

"I would like to ask why are you keeping up the illusion that you are rich when you are in Finland?"

I would say that from all the people that I know, friends, family, and all the relatives who live here, there is not a single person who goes out and tells people that they are rich, we rather try and convince them that the situation we are in is some times even worse than back there, where you would get job according to you´r knowledge and skills rather than you´r skin color.

We do send money and the help we can afford to people less fortunate than us, since some of them look up to us and have nothing else instead. I would say it depends on the situation you are in, but only people who have seen what some people in Africa go true will understand the importance of even little help. I am not saying to send money to people living luxurious life and who can work by themselves it wouldn´t make any sense even tough there are some people who do that( I don´t know what the point is).

"I know it is good to help the family back home but why keeping up the illusion that Europe is a paradise?"

No one keeps up an illusion of Europe being paradise, but I think people over there just do not believe, when you tell them that you got masters degree, but you still can not find a job in Europe. They simply think you are lying. THEY have a wierd believe of Europe being a money paradise as you mentioned.

At the same time, there is little or none people who do not have a permanent job that send money to their families ( I guess).

Anyways hope this helped you to understand, my main point was to clarify that people never try to convince or boost around being "rich", when they get here, but it´s the society back in the countries who have that false believe.

By the way I am african ( somali) who is born here in Finland so I wrote this based to my view of the issue since I think I am familiar with it, so toivottavasti tulee ymmärrettyä (muuten mun enkku ei oo kaikkein paras, sori vaa jos et ymmärrä).
