Anne Ledwidge Askew - Pavel Hejsek

1Wedding vows were exchanged by Anne Ledwidge Askew and Pavel Hejsek at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in The Garden Room of the Country Club of Little Rock. Judge Morris Sheppard Arnold officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Kate and Jess Lee Askew III, 5006 Country Club Blvd. She is the granddaughter of Nancy and Jess Lee Askew Jr. and Annette and Philip Sidney Anderson, all of Little Rock, and the late Missy Wright Anderson.

The groom is the son of Ivana Hejskova and Pavel Hejsek, both of Prague. His grandparents are Marie Hejskova and the late Joseph Hejsek of Pobezovice, Czech Republic, and the late Helena Dostalova and Zdenek Dostal of Trinec, Czech Republic.

Hand-held arches draped with hydrangeas, peonies, pale blush garden roses and creamy white ranunculus were carried by Eleanor Curtis Kenyon of Boston, cousin of the bride; Cassandra Jamelee Albert of Christchurch, New Zealand; Sarah Wallace Wright, cousin of the bride, and Gahwui Kim, both of New York. Nuptial music was by The Little Rock String Quartet.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a sleeveless dress of ivory lace. The fitted bodice had an illusion yoke and the triple pleated tulle skirt and chapel train were embellished with guipure lace appliques. She wore a family heirloom veil of Brussels lace. She carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, peonies, garden roses and ranunculus.

Maid of honor was Mary Read Askew of New York, sister of the bride. She wore a white organza ankle-length dress with an abstract print in blush pink and soft gray. She carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.

Richard Rosenthal of New York was best man. Guests were seated by Christopher Stallman of Washington and Brian Christopher Salvitti and Alexander Gregory Osberg, both of New York.

A seated dinner reception followed in the country club's ballroom. Tables were decorated with clusters of mercury glass vases of different heights filled with wedding flowers. Music was by the Memphis Icebreakers.

The bride is a graduate of the College of William & Mary with a bachelor's degree in English literature and is an associate creative director at Badger & Winters Group in New York.

The groom graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics from Dickinson College, where he was a member of the tennis team and received the Lloyd W. Hughes Scholar Athlete Award. He is a senior analyst at Goldin Associates in New York and will attend the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall to pursue a master's degree in business administration.

The couple will make their home in Philadelphia after a wedding trip to Nevis, West Indies, followed by a European tour, where they will have an extended stay in Prague.
