31.1.2003: Suomi on kamala

Nokian entinen puolalainen työntekijä on julkaissut internetissä tunteitaherättävän artikkelin Suomesta ja suomalaisista.
Finland is lame -nimisessä kirjoituksessa Jacek Rutkowski purkaa antipatioitaan entistä asuinmaataan kohtaan voimalla, joka on saanut parikin suomalaista kirjoittamaan vastineensa Rutkowskin ajatuksiin.

Finland is lame

Finland is lame
This story is dedicated to people, who showed us the true face of Finland:
Timo Kanerva, Tiina Saarteinen, Juha Koivukoski, Seppo Maukonen
A true story about Finland - version 29.

If you are a Finn brainwashed by Finnish education system and you want to stay in your illusoric world, in your "Finnish Matrix" then stop reading now and close this web page!

But if you would like to find out what is on the other side of the mirror, what it is the reality outside of the Matrix, then keep reading...

(Finnish dictator Kekkonen, who ruled Finland for 27 years [to the left], together with Brezhnev [to the right] - boss of Soviet Union; on the picture on the wall: their common idol - Lenin; unbelievable but truth: sovietized mentality of Finns continues even today and that is why Finland rejects NATO membership)

Forget about all stories that you might have read about Finland by now. Most of them were published most probably in publications, that rely on advertisement revenues from Nokia - a Finnish corporation - therefore you cannot find there the truth. Here however we present a true story about Finland, based on personal experiences of people - not-Finns - living for many years in Finland.

Some things are true whether you believe them or not - similarly as this story - it is based on FACTS, therefore it is true. We have not invented any part of it. Of course sometimes generalizations do not apply to whole population, but in this case we present things that refer to majority of population of Finland. It is not question of believing, it is a question of facts.

Well in many respects we are discussing in this article issues related to many things, that Finns can not do much about - except to try to adjust and try to make the best of it - like weather, neighboring countries, totally screwed up and uninteresting geographical location, etc. etc. But who said that life is fair? If somebody - Finn or a foreigner - considers where to spend his or her life, then all factors are of importance, but staying silent also about such issues is nonsense because half-truth sometimes is a lie - and this is what Finland is about - telling half-truths and presenting them from only one point of view. This story reveals the other side of many issues related to Finland and tells full truths.

Finland is one of the lamest European countries, if only it really can be depicted by the adjective "European" at all (actually for example Russia culturally speaking is many times more European than Finland; Finnish is not an indo-European language like most of languages used in Europe)! Not only Finland as a country is lame but also Finns - the people speaking Finnish as a native language - are in 90% very lame: very boorish, boring and intolerant to other cultures.

Geographically speaking Finland is a country of 5 million people located in northern part of Eastern Europe. Indeed location of Finland is very bad - far away from everywhere apart from Russia (borders of Finland with Norway and Sweden, being placed very far north, doesn't count, because most of population lives in central and southern Finland where the only neighbor country is Russia). Territory of Finland is a bit more than 300 000 square km, what means that for such tiny population it is very big. So just imagine several small cities spread over bigger territory. Finland is separated by Baltic sea from Sweden and Estonia, having Russia in the east as the only real neighbor. In other words Finland is geographically speaking far away from all really European countries (like Germany or France). "In the middle of nowhere" is a quite suitable description. The psychological effect of this geographical conditions is that Finns are quiet and non-talkative - because in reality they are isolated from real Europe and not accustomed to oft contacts with foreigners. But quiet doesn't mean anything positive here: it means that instead of trying to find effective solutions through discussions, they keep everything in themselves and only when it is too late they speak it out.

Finns are very proud of their nature, but in fact it is lame too! Finnish nature? What is it? Well, we can tell you: these are forests and lakes placed on flat area (Finland doesn't even have any mountains). And these "forests and lakes" are everything that Finland has - including a couple of reindeers that live in this environment. But is this Finnish nature special? No! Similar (and much better) nature can be spotted also in Central Europe, for example in eastern part of Germany or in Czech Republic. And nature in Finland is unusable in winter because of extremely low temperatures, and in summer because of huge numbers of mosquitos. So if you want to "get a feeling of Finnish nature" then spare yourself visit to remote country like Finland but just go to nearby average forest with a lake (we are sure that most of you have such "nature attractions" in your vicinity). Finland's nature is really nothing special.

Finns may pretend to love nature and may try not to destroy their own nature, but they import big numbers of wood from Russia and former Soviet Union countries, what destroys nature very much so, just in the other place of our planet. So again the "living in self-denial" syndrome of Finnish mentality shows up!

Important part of Finnish mentality and aspirations is "having a small wooden house in forest, possibly near the lake". Even if the house is 400-500 km away from their permanent residence Finns waste a lot of time for traveling there, and for staying there and doing in most cases nothing there (most of these houses of Finns doesn't have even electricity). Having piece of crappy forest has very big emotional meaning to Finns, even if this piece of forest is in remote location and is worthless money-wise. The primitivism of this " wooden house in forest hobby" of Finns reflects nicely the boorish nature of this people.

Drinking beer (mostly) and vodka (sometimes) is one of the main activities in those above mentioned wooden houses of Finns. What else could you do in the middle of the forest tens of km away from next human being? Well, Finns like to drink strong alcohols and it is related to long and dark winter, winter with very short days, but also it is related to the isolation of Finland from real Europe. When Finns get drunk, then they do it very deeply. In fact getting alcohol and getting drunk is the main, if not the only, motivation of their oft trips over the Baltic sea to Estonia. Finns have no idea about enjoying alcohol as a small part of eating, as delicacy, like Italians do it.

Around year 1990 Soviet domination in eastern Europe ended and many countries there introduced free market economies and open societies based on free speech, but Finland still to big extend, mainly mentally, remains under influence of Soviet Union. Although Finland was not a member of Warsaw Pact, Soviet Union enforced on Finland socialism, and the Finland itself surrounded itself as a servile slave of Soviet Russia - hence the term "Finlandization". Finland was obliged, in case of war, to help Soviet Union. Finnish president "Kekkonen" ruled Finland for over 27 years and practiced servility towards Soviet Union. The press in Finland was self-censoring itself and was not writing anything against the government or against big brother (Soviet Union) - there was no "opposition" in Finland like in some other eastern European countries. This whole sovietization of Finland results in screwed psychology of Finns, existing still today, that are on one side not eager to criticize others, but on the other are intolerant to uncommon, original, views of other people. Example: if person selling goods in a shop in Finland before 1990 went to other shop to buy for himself/herself the same goods but at lower prices, then if management of the shop learned this fact, the person was fired because of a lack of blind loyalty to its own shop.

Finns are not like many other Europeans, but they are, not all of them, but in majority, extraordinarily boorish.

Historically speaking Finland gained (not re-gained, because they never had it before) independence only on 6th December 1917, but unlike many other countries that regained independence around the same year, Finland never was independent before, but always a part of Sweden (about 500 years) or Russia (about 100 years just before 1917). The first independence of Finland in 1917 was not a result of military struggle of Finns against Russians but a combined result of rewarding a Finnish servility towards Russian oppressors (other countries occupied by Russia were fighting it militarily) plus thankfulness of Lenin - one of the biggest criminals in the history of the mankind - for the shelter that Finns granted him (he lived in Finland some time) and understanding to his dirty communist ideas. Even today many Finns are proud of museum of Lenin and of the fact that he lived there - as if he would be some Gandhi and not a monster that he was.

National symbol of Finland, that is used on cars registered in Finland is nowadays "FIN" - first three letters of name of the country "Finland". But on some older cars in Finland you can notice letters "SF" that has been abolished however. Why? Because people thought that it means "Soviet Finland" and the original meaning "Suomi Finland" was lost. By the way: interesting is that the name 'Finland' comes from Swedish language but Finns call their country "Suomi" and themselves "Suomalainen". Name of their country in English and in all other languages comes not from themselves, but was enforced on them by others.

Finns (as people, not Finnish government though, not Finnish state) hate Russians. Finns despise Russians. This a fact for a majority of population. That's why for example Finnish corporations prefer to take subcontractors from India rather than from Russia, despite the fact that Russia is bordering directly Finland, and big Russian cultural centre of Sankt Petersburg is located very close to Finland. Finns could benefit greately from very cost-effective Russian professionals - Russia being an intellectual superpower (despite being still very very poor country) and being located directly close to Finland, but Finnish hatred towards Russians makes them blind to this oppurtinity and they prefer fetching professionals from far away (for example: India), paying them much more, and feel themselves also better (as if Finland would be America that is also using to big extend potential of India). But irony is that it was actually Russia thanks to which Finland exists! Why? Because in 19th century, when Finland was occupied by Russia, some other parts of Russian empire were fighting militarily with Russian oppressors, but Finns were extremely servile towards Russians and Czar rewarded Finland with more freedoms, what finally had lead to creation of Finnish state after Russian empire collapsed into Soviet Union, and to the come back of Finnish language - the most important, if not the only, element of Finnish 'culture'.

The weather in Finland is very cold...

(a picture from Finland during winter: -30 degrees Celsius and a day shorter than 5 hours)

... and so are Finns...

(dog's life in Finland: being forced to stay outside - outdoors - during extremely low temperatures in the winter and during snowing)

... - very cold.

Finns like to consider themselves to be part of Scandinavia, but they are not: neither geographically nor culturally. First of all people of Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden - the real cultural Scandinavia - speak similar languages, languages so similar that they communicate with each other without the need to use translator or to use other language (like English). Finnish language on the other hand is not an indo-European language but is simply an Asian language. Also many people and corporations from real Scandinavia don't consider Finland to be a part of Scandinavia but consider it to be the only non-Scandinavian part of "Nordic countries". For example: when you fly by Scandinavian airlines (SAS) then you can notice that in onboard information system Finland is never mentioned as part of Scandinavia.

Finns live in illusory reality, where for example they consider themselves to be part of Swedish culture and history. They often say: "we were part of Sweden for several hundreds of years" as if it would had been some union of equals like England and Scotland in Great Britain. No! In reality Finland was occupied by Sweden and Finns were treated by Swedes as a lower race. Swedish was spoken then in Finland's cities, while Finnish was used by lower social groups like villagers. No union of equals it was. Finland was just an underdeveloped province of Sweden, province that Sweden gladly had given up to Russia just to obtain promise from Russia that it will leave alone the real Sweden.

Finns are very proud of their blond girls, that percentually constitute bigger portion of population than in western and southern Europe. Are Finnish girls beatiful or ugly? Well, answer to this question is to a big extend depending on ethnic background, that answering person (non-Finn) is coming from. It is a question of taste that is not under discussion, but we can mention that most Finnish girls and women have "thick bones" to express it mildly... However one remark needs to be done: sometimes it is better to perceive people beyond color of hair - something that Finns have big problem to do - they consider blonds as a very superior woman species. In reality for many Finns having a girlfriend or a wife with blond hair is the main, if not only reason to be proud in life - intelligence, beauty, and "thick bones issue" are secondary for Finns - blond hair beats it all. So if you are a non-Finn living in Finland and happen to have non-blond (or even dark-blond) hair, then you can get impression of being inferior. Also Finns with non-blond hair doesn't have it easy, but they are searching to mate with blond Finns under the pressure of the stereotypes of Finnish society. Actually Finns openly are so proud of this bigger than average number of people with blond hair in their country as if it would be some proof or their racial superiority! (but in fact, it is just a proof that Swedes that were occupying Finland for over 500 years had a lot of fun doing so)

English language native speakers working in Finland are treated like Gods by Finns, who prefer to work and chat with English language native speakers, even, when in many such cases, these native speakers have mediocre professional skills. In this way English language native speakers can get false impression, that Finns are very friendly, but in reality those Finns are only exercising their English skills. Also because of this situation highly skilled professionals, who are not English native speakers are treated unfairly by Finns. Finland therefore constitutes good opportunity for English native speakers with small talents and low professional skills - they don't have to work too hard in Finland, and Finnish girls are extremely easy to pick for them.

Finnish culture is very poor and low. One of elements of national culture is food, but Finnish kitchen is second to nonexistent! Finnish food historically is a weak mixture of Russian and Swedish kitchens, but is very untasty, not to say disgusting.

Old architecture in Finland is second to nonexistent - very often the biggest architectural attraction of Finnish cities are Russian orthodox churches. Architecture-wise Finland has looks of a poor provincial Russia, but cannot be compared to any extent to such Russian architecture pearls like Sankt Petersburg.

Cable TV in Finland is very lame: very small number of channels and choice of channels is very poor. Example: very small (or none, depending on the region) number of channels in German language. Pay TV in Finland is totally lame - it consits for example of Canal and TV1000 offers. In Finnish Pay TV one can see TV shows that are available in free TV in other European countries.

While in western and central Europe one can receive sattelite TV channles from major sattelites like Astra and Eutelsat - and one can do it even with very very small satellite antennas of size 60 cm (complete antenna/receiver set available in really European countries for reception there costs less than 50 Euro). In Finland however, due to big distance of Finland from real Europe, one cannot receive signal from Astra or Eutelsat sattelites with cheap sets - one needs huge antenna (Eutelsat) or it is not possible at all (Astra). It is too bad because Astra and Eutelsat sattelites carry most interesting european TV channels... most of them not availble in Finland also in their cable TV.

Speaking of churches - apart from Russian orthodox ones, there is also some small amount of protestant catholic churches and almost none Roman catholic churches. Non-Finns living in Finland, who are coming from deeply religious countries like Italy, consider Finland to be a very pagan country.

Over history many Finns, themselves living in a poor, cold and dark country was emigrating. But now they treat most of foreigners with superiority complex, considering themselves something better. Refugees from Africa for example are treated as lower race, similarly as professionals from eastern Europe.

Finns have "eastern Europe inferiority complex". It is expressed in calling themselves a western country, despite being located both geographically and culturally in eastern Europe. Finns don't like eastern Europeans because it reminds them, that they actually are much more "eastern European" than many countries located east of Germany. Finns are also one of EU countries that will block for 7 years access to its job market for new EU citizens after May 2004 when some countries from Central and Eastern Europe will join EU. Finns are also one of few countries of EU where less than 50% of population is supporting EU enlargement in May 2004 - facts speak for themselves! Funny thing is, that this Finnish "eastern Europe inferiority complex" will increase even more, much more, after May 2004 when "big bang style" EU enlargement will take place, and when importance of Finland within EU will decrease to nothing, literally to zero - new EU member countries will have a lot of voting power, what will make Finland totally insignificant within EU (Finland already is to a high extend ignored within EU - there is not even one EU agency in Finland, and Finland's efforts to get location for EU food agency in Helsinki - those lame Finns already constructed a building for this agency in Helsinki - were laughed out by Italians as totally ridicolous idea!).

Finland as a country has very little friends within EU - simply because apart from Sweden, no country within EU had any significant contacts with Finland (and Swedes look down on Finns as boorish primitives with low culture). EU enlargement that will take place on 1st May 2004 could be great opportunity for Finland to gain some new friends (similarly like Ireland gained eternal and utterly strong friendship of several new EU members by voting Yes in Nice Referendum, that made it possible to carry out this huge enlargement; bravo Ireland!!!). Why it could be great opportunity to Finland? Because it was decided, mainly due to Germany and Austria that are bordering many new EU member countries at once, that each old EU country can limit free influx of workers from new EU member countries up to 7 years after 1st May 2004. Several progressive and advanced EU countries decided to open their labor markets right away from 1st May 2004 - it is for example Ireland, Denmark, Holland, Sweden and possibly also more. But not Finland. Finland, despite not having direct border to any new EU member countries, decided to block its labor market for new EU member countries for the maximum of 7 years after1st May 2004! In other words: Finland will for ever lose this unique opportunity to gain new friends in Europe. For ever.

While in many countries users can buy operator-subsidized cell phones for extremely low price - for example 1 Euro - in Finland subsidizing of cell phones is forbidden and users have to pay full price for cell phones! While in other countries (Germany, Hungary, UK, etc) people buy cell phone subscription and get a new cell phone for almost nothing, and are becoming new phone every 1-2 years for free (if still subscribed), in Finland people need to pay full price. It is another example of limited extend of free market in Finland.

During World War II, when USA and UK allied with Soviet Russia to fight Nazi Germany, Finns selected to be allied with Nazis! And nowadays Finland still is not a NATO member, what makes its stance unclear. Such position is unacceptable in contemporary world where axis of evil and international terrorism are endangering mankind. Finland simply is a coward, that is afraid to anger huge Russia. Cowards who are scared to take moral choice. Finland values much more "very good relationships with Russia" (as Finns call it) and position of vague neutrality, rather than NATO membership what implies clear moral stance. In other words: while major parts of western Europe value USA as major partner and are full NATO members, Finland (as a country or as a government, mostly not individual citizens though) however values more Russia than both NATO and USA.

Finnish mentality to big extend is based on deception and lies. But interesting thing is that it is not one sided lying! Finns are also lying to themselves and live in self-deception. Example: on one side they pretend to be very nature friendly and greenpiece-like tree hugging nature lovers, but in reality they are not - as the only country in EU they are building new nuclear power plants nowadays, while all other EU countries have plans to put these plants out of operation in near future.

Very big part of Finnish mentality is jealousy - sometimes just for the sake of jealousy Finns are able to hurt other people without any mercy or empathy. Just imagine: being extremely non-talkative and very jealous - it leads to situation where Finns tell you one thing and think another thing and it prevents from solving problems beforehand. Jealousy of Finns sometimes is so great that they cannot understand other people at all, and simply blindly hate them while keeping pretended smile on their faces.

Finns have very little knowledge of geography, particularly very small knowledge of real Europe - it is so remote that only little number of Finns goes there for holiday and for short time. There is no oft contacts of Finns with real Europeans, like between French and Germans, and there is even no possibility to receive numerous european TV channels (very poor and small selection of these channels is present in Finnish TV). This ignorance is not limited to common people, but also official Finnish TV sometimes shows, during news shows, maps of Europe where countries are placed totally in wrong places!

Somebody may think that this story is just a pointless stereotyping. But in reality Finns are stereotyping, profiling, people very much themselves! Not only Russians and Swedes - their former occupants, but also many other nations. So if you happen to be from the wrong country and try to live in Finland nothing will help you because of this brutal stereotyping of Finns - thinking in terms of stereotypes that people from such and such nation are such and such.

Health service in Finland is on a very low level. Sometimes people need to wait months to visit a doctor and level of service is low.

Finns in the lift - in ordinary houses - are standing back to each other (not face to face) to avoid any contacts - they cannot stand contacts with other people. Similarly is in buses and trains. This mentality leads to low communication skills among Finns.

There is no presence of international commercial organizations in Finland. No international banks in retail banking - no Citibank, no Deutsche Bank. To imbecile Finns: "retail banking" means that a bank is available for individual persons, not just for corporations; of course there are some small divisions of international banks in Finland, like Citibank for companies, that handle some small number of corporate customers, but NOT for individuals, no retail banking from international big banks is available in Finland. No international supermarkets like Geant or Tesco (lately German shop chain "Lidl" came to Finland what caused huge sensation there - very big queues and a lot of customers buying there - because choice of goods in other shops is so small that Finns were shocked by "Lidl" which in Germany is considered to be, together with "Aldi", one of the cheapest shops where only poorest people are buying). No international cellular network operators like Vodafone, T-Mobile or Orange. It results in an extremely small choice of goods and services in Finland and in high prices in many cases.

It is also ridiculous, that in Finland - country where people like to call themselves "Scandinavian" despite the fact that they are not at all such - there is only one (1) IKEA shop (in Espoo/Helsinki area), while in many other European and non-European countries one can find several IKEA shops. IKEA is a nice Swedish company offering quality furniture with nice design, and Finland being over-the-Baltic-sea neighbor of Sweden, should have more IKEA shops, but it hasn't! Why? Because Finnish industry and politicians are blocking IKEA from entering Finnish market because it would supposedly hurt Finnish furniture industry. Similar situation is in other areas of retail commerce in Finland where non-Finish products/shops are very rare or very expensive to acquire - for example choice of non-Nokia cell phones in Finland is ridiculously small, Finns having no idea about cell phones based on MS Smartphone 2002 and Pocket PC Phone Edition, because these phones are simply not available for retail customers in Finland at all!

The rise of Finland as somehow European country started just in the year 1995, when Finland joined EU (European Union). It was by no means coincidence that in the same year currently the biggest Finnish corporation - Nokia - started to rise. Without EU membership of Finland Nokia would still be small unknown company producing rubber and paper. But what role does Finns play in construction of EU? Answer: none! Finland keeps high taxes on cars and to import a car from some EU country one needs to pay high taxes too! In other words Finland takes all benefits from EU membership and is not giving anything significant back - Finland still gets (sucks) more money from EU than it takes - but it pretends to be good EU member that gives more than gets. Pretending is very important in Finland. No wonder then that Finland's request to locate EU food agency in Finland has been laughed out by Italy's government who said that "Finland is too far away" and that "Finns have no idea what is it 'good food' " - both things truth (see also paragraph about Finnish kitchen in this text). Make however no mistake: being Asian is nothing wrong, but in this text it is just underlined the fact that "European" status of Finland is questionable, because Finland never was close to centre of the Europe, neither culturally nor geographically.

Foreigners working in Finland need to pay high taxes and unemployment contributions but after leaving Finland they get nothing from these money (all those taxes and unemployment contributions that foreigners are forced to pay in Finland while working there, should be returned to foreigners when they leave Finland, but instead are spoiled on lazy Finns and on oversized Finnish socialistic/leftist government; in other words: Foreigners are getting only about 30 % of the money, the rest goes to Finnish government and Finnish landlords who, both, request more than in really European countries). It is just a brutal exploitation carried out by leftist Finnish government. Very high taxes and very high prices of flat rentals result in low "after-taxes wages" what makes whole idea of coming to Finland very questionable for many non-Finns. Unfortunately this information is hidden and false propaganda is pumped into people who consider coming to Finland for work. Even Nokia - the company without which Finland would be totally poor - is insisting on Finnish government to lower taxes "or else", where "else" is a threat to move headquarters and a lot of R&D outside of Finland.

Non-Finns working in Finland are brutally exploited by landlords, who enforce very high (compared even to Germany) prices of flat rentals on them. Those Finnish landlords are parasites of Finnish economy, economy based in huge majority on just one corporation: Nokia (of course directly Nokia does not employ whole Finland, but indirectly it supports huge parts of Finnish economy). Cases are known, where landlords are enforcing on Asian workers living in Finland very high, flat-ralated, payments for things, that those people didn't do.

Finland has also a habit of stealing foreign inventions and calling them "purely Finnish". Example: Sauna that was stolen from Russians - it was used in Russia around 1000 years longer, than in Finland and is called by a Russian word "Bania". The same with Santa Claus - Finns are spreading marketing propaganda that he 'lives in Finland' just because reindeers live in nature in Finland - but in reality the original Santa Claus was a catholic bishop living in Turkey (at that time it was other country there). And now similar thing happens with cell phones: Finns think that it was thanks to Finnish Nokia that cell phones were spreading lately so much and feel themselves like inventors of cell phones, while in fact it was Mo

31.1.2003: Suomi on kamala

Nokian entinen puolalainen työntekijä on julkaissut internetissä tunteitaherättävän artikkelin Suomesta ja suomalaisista.
Finland is lame -nimisessä kirjoituksessa Jacek Rutkowski purkaa antipatioitaan entistä asuinmaataan kohtaan voimalla, joka on saanut parikin suomalaista kirjoittamaan vastineensa Rutkowskin ajatuksiin.

Finland is lame
