Hey guys, I would desperatly need some help with my translation task (wikipedia let me down). Could someone please tell me what "maastotutkimus" might be in English?
I was thinking about terrain research but not sure if its an accurate term. This assingment has to do with drainage.
I would highly appreciate any kinds of other suggestion,

At least in American English 'study of the terrain' or 'terrain study' sounds little better than 'terrain research'. 'Environmental study' is widely used but it might contain more than studying just the terrain. The suggested 'ground testing' sounds like taking soil samples and 'testing', of course, is different from 'studying/research'.

It's me again. I don't know why I did not think of this earlier: 'landscape study'. I know I have heard the term being used here in the USA. I admit I'm not an expert in drainage but it would be my #1 pick to translate 'maastotutkimus'.
