Brittiläinen WeatherAction sääpalvelu ennustaa Britanniaan yhtä kylmintä talvea 100 vuoteen. Siperian kylmien tuulien povataan puhaltavan maassa samanlailla kuin ennätyskylminä tammikuina 1740 ja 1987.
Toiset sääpalvelut kuten Meteogroup ja MetOffice ennustavat kylmyyden jäävän lyhytaikaiseksi ja loppu tammikuun olevan leuto.
