Minusta tuo valaisee sitä, miten ja milloin (how and when) aivojen kasvu tuli syntymisen kannalta mahdolliseksi eikä siihen, miksi (why) se juuri silloin tapahtui.

Kyllä. Tässä sitä palapeliä taas pikku hiljaa rakennellaan kohti kokonaisempaa käsitystä meidän aivojen kehityksen vaiheista.
Pidän kyllä Valtaojan lainauksen: "Sanat eivät fossiloidu eivätkä ajatukset tartu luolien seiniin." mielessä. Eli en edelleenkään usko, että saisimme koskaan selville kaikkia yksityiskohtia tietyistä mutaatioista ja niihin johtaneista valintaprosesseista.
