Explorer Team Update
The scientific mission does not end with the dismantling of the Ice Base. Our explorers completed a full day of science on Wednesday and are scheduled to do another today, gathering vital seawater samples, taking sea ice thickness measurements and conducting filtration.
The team have been experiencing some southern drift, covering eight nautical miles on Thursday, only to wake up yesterday to find they had drifted back a full mile. In an effort to make up the miles they've been getting rather creative with how they cross open water. As the picture illustrates, they have taken to lashing two of the sledges together and using them as a 'raft' to either crawl or punt across!
